President’s Letter

Dear Members, Community Partners, and Supporters,

It is with great excitement and deep gratitude that I step into the role of President of  Junior League of Auburn-Opelika. Serving this incredible group of women, each of you dedicated, talented, and compassionate, is truly an honor. I’m inspired every day by your passion for service, your commitment to growth, and your belief in the power of community.

As we look ahead to the coming year, I’m filled with hope and anticipation. We’ve welcomed so many new members recently and have seen familiar faces return with renewed enthusiasm. It’s a joy to watch our League grow, not just in numbers, but in strength, purpose, and heart.

Women join JLAO for many reasons: to make new friends, to develop as leaders, to build their networks, and to give back through meaningful service. Whatever brought you here, I want to encourage you to lean in, speak up, and take full advantage of what this League has to offer. Your voice matters, your presence matters, and your impact matters.

For more than 25 years, this League has been a catalyst for positive change in our community. We’ve faced challenges, but we’ve remained strong and now, more than ever, our future shines brightly. Through collaboration, creativity, and commitment, we will continue to lift each other up and build a better tomorrow.

As we embark on this new chapter, I want to center us on a shared message that captures who we are and what we stand for:

Together, we rise by empowering all women to lead, to serve, and to shape a better tomorrow through the strength of community and the power of purpose.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Thank you for believing in our mission. And thank you for showing up not just for the League, but for each other and for the people we serve.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with your ideas, questions, or feedback. My door and  my inbox are always open. I’m so excited for the year ahead and all the amazing things we’ll accomplish together.

With gratitude and excitement,
Heather McDonald
