Community
We’re Focused on Auburn and Opelika
JLAO members create a rotating “impact statement” based on their work to engage in community-based research with local non-profit agencies, leaders, and community groups. The intent is for the impact statement to focus on Auburn and Opelika community members’ most pressing needs. The statement is revisited every 5-10 years.
The current impact statement states “The Junior League of Auburn-Opelika is committed to strengthening the leadership, power, and voices of school-age girls and young women in Lee County to result in increased confidence, courage, knowledge, and personal development.”

Fulfilling Leadership Opportunities for Members
JLAO members are practicing community and civic leadership as part of their work in the League. By providing members the tools and resources to lead, providing space for them to learn about their communities’ needs, and charging them with putting their unique brand of creativity and skill to work, JLAO is making a lasting and sustainable impact in Auburn and Opelika.
We’re Transforming Auburn and Opelika
No matter the impact statement for the year, the work of the League centers around improving our local communities through community-based research and conversation, effective action, and collective leadership.
